Continuing a long-held tradition, Spier is a family-owned farm. The current owners acquired the farm in 1993 and, along with managing the farming operations, work closely to ensure that their guiding values manifest across the business. Situated near Stellenbosch, Spier is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms with a recorded winemaking history dating back to 1692. While rooted in this heritage, Spier has got a vibrant and conscious energy and their wines are among the most awarded in the country.
This semi-sweet, unwooded non-alcoholic wine has aromas of peach, litchi, orange, elderflower and hints of guava. The mouthwatering palate has fresh crisp, tropical fruit flavours that fill the mouth with a lemony saline swirl on the finish.
Although this versatile alcohol-free wine is great on its own as an aperitif, it’s also delicious with light seafood dishes or crisp salads.
If you’re new to them, de-alcoholised wines will be a little different to what you’re used to. Give your palate a bit of time to adjust to their delicate elegance and finesse.
