Theonista is an independent, female-owned small craft beverage company located in Woodstock, Cape Town. The name “Theonista” a feminine, assertive twist on the Greek word “Theobroma” meaning “food of the gods.” For all Theonista products, the combination of high quality ingredients and expert fermentation and/or brewing methods translates into an approach they are proud of and a difference you can truly taste.
Theonista has grown exponentially over the past few years, but in many ways it is still very much the same as it was at the start. They make everything in small batches, overwhelmingly use people over machines, rely on whole ingredients rather than artificial anything, cherish organic and indigenous botanicals, are just as committed as ever to our social and ecological ethics, and are totally obsessed with creating the very best things they can.
